Advertising Guide in IOS 14.5 from TikTok and Adjust

The release of iOS 14.5 has left marketers and app developers somewhat confused. The new version introduced a feature that allows users not to show their activity in apps.

Now every user of an Apple device with iOS 14.5 can go into the settings and enable or disable the consent to track activity.

In response, platform Adjust and TikTok released a guide detailing marketing strategies in the new circumstances. They noted that the world is transitioning to a new reality where privacy is a priority. The guide has ideas and advice on how to market your product when user consent rates can be as low as 50% at best.

Adjust's product director said that while the new environment does challenge marketers and developers, it's not a collapse but an opportunity to find new approaches. Companies can still successfully attract new customers by showing their support for the new rules.

The guide presents a report showing that the update has not negatively impacted the number of active users of the various apps. The report indicates that users are increasingly experiencing the benefits of subscriptions. Since the update came out, the number of users who have subscribed has increased from 5% to 31% and continues to grow.

Another report shows the statistics by country. The highest percentage of users who subscribe is in Indonesia. It is about 50%. The lowest was shown by Germany with 20%.

It seems that this rule should strike a balance between user safety and the possibility for developers to promote their products. How do you feel about Apple's innovation?
