Excitement Builds for Genshin Impact's 5.0 Update: Introducing Mualani and the Natlan Region

As anticipation builds for the latest updates in Genshin Impact, players are eager for the arrival of new characters and regions. The much-anticipated 5.0 update, which includes the Natlan region, is set to launch later today, August 27. Among the exciting additions is the 5-star Hydro character Mualani, who will introduce her banner alongside the regional expansion.

The release of Mualani and the associated banner is expected around 8pm PT / 11pm ET / 4am BT, subject to any maintenance delays. HoYoverse has informed players that to improve pre-download speeds on hard drives, the update requires a significant amount of space, roughly 26 - 38 GB for PC pre-downloads, with the resource package accounting for about 16 - 23 GB. While players can pre-install the update, they may encounter a few steps during launch.

Accompanying Mualani will be a rerun banner featuring the beloved Anemo character Kazuha. The roster of 4-star characters will include Bennet, Xinyan, and the new Geo character Kachina, who will also be available for free in Natlan. The latter portion of update 5.0 is anticipated to introduce more characters, including the Dendro 5-star Kinich and the Electro Archon Raiden Shogun, with further details regarding their 4-star companions yet to be revealed.

Mualani stands out with a unique movement feature, allowing her to glide on a shark-like creature. The environment in Natlan enhances her ability to move rapidly over short distances. In combat scenarios, she excels as a powerful on-field Vaporize DPS, relying on the synergy with Pyro allies to maximize her damage output through significant but rare strikes. She can mark enemies by moving through them, and once she has marked at least three, she unleashes a barrage of powerful attacks.

Kachina offers a different playstyle, acting as a support DPS character with an interesting movement ability. She can utilize a deployable drill to navigate the terrain like a spinning top, even climbing cliffs with ease. Meanwhile, Kinich brings the capability of using a Dendro grappling hook for impressive leaps. For those looking for alternative interaction, Natlan is home to dinosaur-like creatures that provide similar exploration advantages.

In addition to these characters, Genshin Impact has announced Xilonen for update 5.1, marking the introduction of another Geo 5-star, who also embodies the cat-girl theme popular among fans.
