Pattinson’s Playful Pursuit: Channeling Steve-O for the Big Screen
Robert Pattinson is recognized not only as one of the prominent actors of his time but also for his ability to create amusing vocal expressions. He has showcased his talent in various roles, such as voicing the heron in The Boy and the Heron and portraying Mickey in Mickey 17, continually exploring the boundaries of accents and impersonations.
On the set of Mickey 17, his playful experimentation took an interesting turn when he attempted an impression of Steve-O, which didn't quite hold up for long. Pattinson expressed his admiration for Jackass, noting how he was influenced by a past interview where Steve-O discussed the surprisingly modest pay of just a hundred dollars for performing daring stunts in the show's inaugural season. This revelation sparked his fascination with genuine bravery that often goes unrecognized, something he felt resonated with his character in Mickey. As a result, he invested time in honing his version of Steve-O's voice, which caught the attention of Bong Joon-Ho during its first delivery.
Though Pattinson may not have the chance to showcase his Steve-O impersonation in the current film, he remains optimistic about a future opportunity. He expressed a readiness for a potential biopic on Steve-O, stating he would be eager to embrace the role.
Could Pattinson truly embody the spirit of Steve-O in a film?
