Twitch Will Pay Creators More by Expanding Ad Programs
Twitch plans to expand its ad program (AIP) to include more partners and creators shortly. This initiative allows users to receive a stable income (guaranteed monthly payments) from displaying ads on their streams. The amount of such payments depends on the number of ad impressions per hour and the total duration of streams (in hours). You can adjust the number of ads in your videos on your own. At the same time, the minimum duration of streams per month should be at least 40 hours. The system automatically places marks for commercial breaks.
Previously, participation in such a program was available only to selected streamers and by invitation only. Now more creators will have opportunities to find additional sources of income. Creators and partners will be able to see all available offers in their Ads Manager tabs. However, the developers have not yet announced the number of partner places and the principle by which people will be invited to participate. It is also not yet known whether the requirements for the number of hours of streaming per month will change.
Besides that, the company will also change the format of payments itself. You will be able to claim most of the payouts (up to 55%). The changes will take effect in August. Recall that streamers received only a fixed rate for every thousand views before that. Now the system will be based on percentages, which means higher payouts for users. According to experts, this innovation means an increase in the income for active streamers by almost 150%.
In our opinion, it is a great opportunity for creators to increase their income and not rely solely on donations. Now there will be even more such options. If you are an active Twitch user, please share your opinion. Do you think AIP is an effective way to make money?
