WhatsApp Is Developing a New Feature That Will Allow Beta Testers on Android to Mark Status Updates

WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging apps in the world, with millions of people using it every day. It has recently announced a new feature for Android users: the ability to report status updates. This feature has been rolled out in the latest WhatsApp beta update for Android and is expected to be available for all users soon. It will allow users to report any status updates that do not adhere to WhatsApp's community guidelines. This new feature is part of WhatsApp's ongoing efforts to make its platform safer and more secure for its users. This is the first time that WhatsApp has introduced a feature to allow users to report inappropriate content on their platform.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is developing a new report feature for a future Android beta version that would let users report any suspicious or malicious status update which appears to violate their Terms of Service. Once reported, the status update will be sent to the company for moderation. This feature will also be available on the desktop app, where users can report any suspicious status update to the company as well.

Furthermore, the reported status updates will be end-to-end encrypted, similar to messages, voice calls, media, and location sharing, thus ensuring that no third party, including WhatsApp or Meta, can access this content. The ability to report status updates feature for WhatsApp Android beta is currently under development and is expected to be released in a future update.

Additionally, the same feature is being tested for the desktop app and is expected to be released on the iOS beta version of the app in the near future. This feature will allow users to report any suspicious status update on their PCs or laptops using the desktop app.

Conclusion

WhatsApp's new report status updates feature and the meta desktop feature are two major additions to the platform. These new features will help make WhatsApp a safer and more secure platform for its users.
