No matter if you’re a PlayStation or an Xbox fan, or you prefer the flexibility of a PC, or one of those rare Mac players – there is something for everyone. Mobile app stores also offer some games for free. So, let’s see them, store by store. And forget the games that are normally free-to-play, let’s ignore discounts - we focus on the current giveaways, no matter if they are temporary or constant.

Builders of Egypt, Hello Neighbor Alpha and Other Free Games on GOG

The Good Old Games service has something quite new in store, but these don’t form the free offer active now. For the end of March 2020 it also offers some fresh titles.

Builders of Egypt: Prologue is a city-building strategy set in Ancient Egypt. This subgenre of strategy was very popular once, and then it surrendered to farms and tower defense games. Here is one returning to the roots of the pyramids. Though the full game is yet to be released, its prologue is already playable and rated as positive.

Hello Neighbor Alpha is another cult title. The story of a kid entering the neighbor’s house was enchanting with its irrational othersideness, something that couldn’t be comprehended by human logic. The randomness and senselessness amplified the sense of horror, and the alpha version of the game is said to have more of it than the release. That’s why, despite the release version being here, the Alpha doesn’t go.

The rest of the roster includes:

• A pack of Ultima games, including Ultima Worlds of Adventure 2: Martian Dreams, Ultima 4: Quest of the Avatar, Worlds of Ultima: The Savage Empire, and the predecessor of the series - Akalabeth: World of Doom.

Free Games on Steam: The Deed, Goat of Duty, and Others

The most popular game distribution platform couldn’t stay away from that giveaway madness, the list of games includes mostly games that haven’t been received well. None of them is rated as “overwhelmingly positive”. Still, there are some nice titles to point out.

The Deed is a detective story from a different point of view. Your character is not a detective investigating a murder, but the murderer trying to get away. Killing a potential rival – his own sister – is not an easy decision. But once you have decided on that, make your murder a perfect one!

Goat of Duty is a parody of you-know-what; one could guess by the name that this game is only of comical value – and that would be wrong. In fact, changing the soldiers into anthropomorphic goats is not the greatest-of-all-time joke. Instead, the developers implemented several decent multiplayer maps and incredibly tough action.

• Acceleration of Suguri, 100% Orange Juice! & 200% Mixed Juice! – A bunch of cult and cute RPGs by the famous Orange Juice studio. If you like one, you’ll probably appreciate the rest.
• Barro – A small indie racing.
• Between Two Castles – A digital version of a popular board game
• Drawful 2 – A celebration of bad drawing, delivering tons of fun; available also on Apple TV.
• Goat of Duty – A parody of you-know-what and quite a decent shooter.
• Hellion – A futuristic survival multiplayer set in space.
• Martian Law – An old-school fantastic arcade shooter.
• Nephise Begins – An adventure game with thrilling puzzles.
• Project Mercury – An eye-candy for neon style fans.
• UNI – A set of mini-games for two players.

World War Z and More on Epic Games Store

The most prominent title available on Epic for free this time is World War Z. It’s set in the same universe with the eponymous novel by Max Brooks and the movie. The game is a cooperative survival where a team of four players opposes hordes of zombies and tries to survive.

The greatest thing about this game is the large variety of specialty combinations in the team, as there are six classes available, while the team only consists of four members. On the other hand, the variety of AI-controlled zombies is not limited at all, and they are different in power, hit points, and special abilities. There are also modes where a team should fight another team or even several!

In 2019, World War Z became one of the most popular titles on the market. So grab it now with both hands!

Epic Games Store features two more free games that would cost money any other time:

• Figment – A musical adventure drawn in a surrealistic manner.
• Tormentor X Punisher – A raw indie action with caricature violence.

Free Games on Uplay

Uplay has also offered only two titles for free, but they are worth a try:

• Child of Light – A 2D turn-based RPG shaped as a platformer. Except for one ability impossible in a classical platformer: the protagonist, a princess on her quest, can fly! And this really changes the game. Follow the firefly and face the new adventures!
• Rabbids Coding – Another mad story about rabbids who need coding assistance! It’s not the most popular story featuring these insane creatures, but one of those you should give some time to understand why rabbids make such a cult. Now they are making their trademark mess in space after a visit to the ISS. To mend it, they need to assemble fragments of the code, and you are here to rescue them. Playing it, you subconsciously learn the serious coding.
